Newsletter Autumn 2005 Autumn Production The production of
“A Fine Monster You Are!” by Monk Ferris took place on 2nd & 3rd
September. It was directed by Vanessa
Sharpe, her first production for us, and we congratulate her. The cast enjoyed working on the play and it
was well received by the audience. It
was unfortunate that the audiences were very small, next year we plan to put
on a play on June 23rd/24th so that we can catch the
audience before they go on their summer holidays. Subscriptions You should all have received the minutes of the AGM in which the new
subscription rates were given. These
are £6 for adults and £3 for those in full time education. People taking part in the pantomime who
have not been members before will be asked to pay £3 for adults and £1.50 for
those in full time education. Refreshments
at pantomime rehearsals will now be free of charge. If you have not paid your subscription yet
please could you do so to Melanie or Claire.
Harvest Supper We have once
again been asked to provide some entertainment after the Harvest Supper. There will be some community singing to end
the evening but we would like some readings or a short sketch, please let
David know if you would like to take part.
Video Evening We have a
number of videos of past productions, some recent and some not so recent –
who remembers Robinson Crusoe? Lesley
and Sue Spurling are organising
an evening on November 16th, the venue will depend on how many
people are interested so if you are please let them know. They would also be interested in anyone who
would be able to lend a large TV for the occasion. If anyone has the ability to edit videos so
we can produce a compilation tape for the evening that would be even better. Christmas Outing If sufficient
people are interested there will be a Christmas outing on 7th
December for a meal for members and partners.
We are looking at the Star at Tytherley and hope to offer a subsidy to
members. Please let Melanie know by
the end of October if you are interested. Pantomime 2006 The pantomime
will be “Robin Hood and the Singing Nun” by Stuart Arden. David Haydon has agreed to direct it and
the startup meeting will be on Oct 19th at 7:45pm at the Epworth
Hall. The meeting will be for adults
and children interested in taking speaking parts. There will be a separate meeting at a later
date for younger children interested in taking part. The performances will be Feb 2nd,
3rd, 4th and rehearsals will be Thursday evenings in
November and December and Sunday afternoons and Thursday evenings in January. The Committee
