Minutes of committee meeting

Thurs 29th March 2007

Present:  Lesley Evans, Rebecca Rickard, Sue Spurling, Sue Holligan, Vanessa Sharpe, Jo Finch, Melanie Haydon

Apologies: Claire Bevan

1.      Minutes of the last meeting 17th Feb 2007

The minutes were read and approved.

2.      Matters Arising

Covered elsewhere.

3. Treasurers report

Noda subscription has been paid, will consider not renewing next year as insurance quote received from Norris & Fisher of £301 against Noda £350.  Meeting agreed to take out policy with Norris & Fisher.  Panto took £1,300 in ticket sales with expenses to date of £650.

Claire does not wish to continue after 31st March but will prepare the accounts for the AGM.

4. AGM

Date moved to May 3rd at Scout Hut – agreed to use Scout Hut to help with their fund raising.  Melanie to write to Janice Waterman to confirm dates and method of payment.

Jo will put a notice in the Gauntlet and Melanie will issue the notice of the meeting to members.

Jo and Melanie do not wish to continue in their current roles although would be willing to be committee members if needed.  Various people to be sounded out to see if they would be interested in taking on roles.

5. Panto 2007

Feedback meeting took place afterwards, Melanie to get a copy of Vicky’s notes.  Learning lines early on helped the pace, cast was enthusiastic as they all wanted to be in it.  Instead of having a social event at Christmas have one post panto to include all those involved.  Directing can be daunting for new people, committee should indicate which areas they are able to offer expertise in.  Now the village hall is being used more it would be an idea to put pre-production photos up.

6. Murder Mystery Evening

This is scheduled for Sat 28th April.  Catherine Cartwright is acting as liaison with the school committee.  A number of people have expressed interest in taking part, Alan will cast it and email list to committee before contacting people.  There will be 3 rehearsals, 12th, 19th, 26th April for people to get to know their characters and the scenarios. Modern dress but a little flamboyant.  It was agreed that a bottle should be brought for David, Alan and Chris as they have spent a lot of time on this over the winter.

7. Autumn Production

This will be “An Inspector Calls” by JB Priestley.  Auditions will take place on 17th May.

8. (omitted)

9. Costume Storage.

We need to vacate the Stockbridge scout hut by the end of April.  Members to be asked for ideas, Melanie to speak to PollyAnn, Broughton Players and Braishfield Players, Sue S to speak to the Lyons and Chalcrafts.  Sue Spurling does not wish to continue to be responsible for the costumes.

10. Panto 2008

A director is needed.  The panto should be cast before the play so that rehearsals can begin after the play.

11. Church Fete

A puzzles stall – Jo to let Glenda know.

Next meeting 25th April 7:45pm at Lesley’s
