Minutes of the meeting 22nd July 2008 and matters
arising The
minutes of the previous meetings were accepted. Actions
completed, unless detailed below: Ø Vicky to email
Chairman’s report and list of activities to Vanessa. Ø Vanessa to update
website with chairman and treasurer’s report. Ø Alan to look into
website address change and email Players their forum password. Ø Vanessa to produce
membership cards, with event dates (further dates to be decided at next
meeting). Ø Vicky to write letter
to Joseph and Thomas Rickard and Christopher Waggott to thank them for the
puppet show – which was a great success and raised £15 for the Church. Ø
Hall will be needed from 2.30-10.30 – Vanessa to write to
Joyce to confirm booking (also to confirm booking for Play 2008 and Panto
2009 for 20th and 21st February). Ø
Messages left for Sophie Lyons about costumes – no reply as
yet. Ø
Vicky to ask John Chalcroft about scenery storage. 2.

– Melanie and Steve Denford (Andrew Flanagan to set up) Offers

to consider when hall is needed for rehearsals and book. All
tickets to be £5 on sale from 1st October. 3.
Panto Start
up meeting – Wednesday 8th October 7.45pm. Venue to be confirmed. Casting
meeting – Tuesday 14th October 9pm in the Crown. Kerry
and Duncan Natt not interested in directing. Kelda Lay not interested in
producing, but will help with children again. Vicky happy to help with
children as well. Sue Jackson may consider directing. Ø Could also ask Sue
Spurling, Chris Hall, Sarah George. Committee
happy to take some responsibilities and be in panto. Nigel
and Melanie looked at scripts on www.lazybeescripts.co.uk. Ø Committee to read
favourites: Dick Whittington and his cat, Dick Whittington version 3, Puss in
Boots. 4.
Village Hall
Development Melanie
arranged demonstration with Adam Pepe from Amadeus for 16th
September at 3.30pm. Vicky and Nigel will attend. Ø Also ask Chris and
Andrew and invite Tony Ward. Ø Vicky to try to get
hold of a Q build to demonstrate – from school. Ø Alan to look into
steepledeck and topdeck. 5.
Players Walk Decided
to change from walk and picnic to pub walk due to unpredictable weather and
to move to 14th September so more notice could be given. Walk
along the 6.
AOB Ø The committee looked at
theatre brochures for workshops and interesting performances. Vanessa to
advertise workshops being offered by local theatres and contact Ø Harvest Supper – Vicky to
ask Catherine Cartwright, Sue Jackson and Pollyann Monk, Melanie to ask
Rebecca Rickard and Lesley Evans. Feedback to Vanessa who will respond to
Sandie Pepperill. Ø Harvest Lunch – Vicky
to check with Sarah Litton, if not Alan and Vanessa to coordinate. Ø Children’s Production
review – Vicky to ask Pollyann Monk. Melanie
wrote cheques for Sarah Litton’s expenses and hiring of hall. Next meeting Tuesday
30th September 7.45pm at Sue’s. |
