2. Panto.

It was agreed that in future productions should be planned further ahead, at least a year.  The newsletter will ask that anyone interested in directing or producing the panto gets in touch with one of the committee by Jul 21st.  It was thought Vicky Burden might be interested.  Dates of 23rd & 24th Feb had been proposed, Jo Finch was checking with Bill Sutton whether he could do those dates.  The startup meeting would take place on 14th Sept and people would be asked to audition for the parts they were interested in.  The startup meeting would also ask for people interested in other aspects of the production.  The committee would look at the lazybee website for pantomime scripts to select a short list for the director to consider.  Ones particularly of interest were 1001 Arabian nights and a matinee, Captain Hook’s revenge, Sinbad and Sleeping Beauty by Dave Jeans or John Dwyer.  Rehearsals would begin in October with an initial read through.

After the startup meeting anyone who read for a part but did not get one should be told and a cast list and rehearsal list issued to all members.  People accepting a part should be asked to commit to all rehearsals post Christmas.

A piece would be sent to the gauntlet for inclusion in the august edition to promote the startup meeting.

3. Other Events

Shakespeare evening on 19 Jul at 7:45pm at the Epworth Hall.

A visit to “The Hot Mikado” at the Watermill Theatre was proposed for August, this would be included in the newsletter and lifts offered.  Sue Holligan agreed to check details.

An improvisation evening was proposed for November which Vanessa and Sue Holligan agreed to organise.

A Christmas event – bring a plate of food and a party piece was proposed.  A possible venue would be Poppies in Timsbury.

The murder mystery evening was agreed and Jo will ask Sue Jackson for her pre-packed one so we can look at using the story if not the format.

The play would be in June again, the Church fete provided an opportunity to sell tickets.  The newsletter will also ask for people interested in directing the play.

4. AOB

Members will be reminded about subscriptions in the newsletter.  David Haydon will be asked to sign the accounts when they have been audited as they relate to 2005/2006 when he was chairman.

Next meeting 27July 7:45pm at Sue Spurling’s if she is agreeable.
