of the last meeting 18th June 2007 and matters arising The minutes of
the previous meeting were read and accepted. ·
Children’s
production - Sue is happy to continue looking into a script and help out, but
will not have time to direct. Ø
Vanessa
to speak to Sarah Litton to see if she would be interested. ·
Co-opting
– Rebecca has re-joined the committee. ·
Contacts
– Vanessa will include contacts suggested by Melanie in the next newsletter
distribution if possible. ·

and Vanessa to get certification from the Vicar then contact Melanie. 2. Costume Alan looked
further into costings for a storage container: container
- £800 de-humidifier
- £124 (including VAT and delivery) electricity
for running de-humidifier - £190-£240 per year plus
getting electricity supply to de-humidifier Vicky looked
into costings for a shed: looking
at over £1000 for a decent sized shed need
concrete base no
need for de-humidifier risk
of vandalism and possible higher insurance premiums Other costs to
consider: planning
permission (Jon Rickard could help with paperwork) rent
for space (Playing Fields Association likely to be amenable) donation
to Scouts as the space is currently used by them Ø
As
costs could be too high to manage, Melanie to do a cost analysis of storage
against hiring costumes. Ø

Vanessa
to put advert in newsletter asking for members to store one box/bag of
costumes each. 3. Panto Nigel, Melanie
and Vanessa had started to look at some panto scripts on http://www.lazybeescripts.co.uk and
particularly like the look of Sleeping Beauty (version 1 by Jon Dwyer). Ø
All
committee members to read the script and feedback responses on suitability,
considering character roles, set and staging, humour. As the panto is
such a big job for a director and this may stop some people volunteering, we
would like to put together a production team initially and develop roles from
there. Ø
Vanessa
to put advert in summer newsletter and September’s Gauntlet. Ø
All
committee to attend initial production team meeting on Wednesday 5th
September at Epworth Hall. Further
production team meetings to be held at need, with auditions for the panto
being on Wednesday 19th September at Epworth Hall. 4. Events ·
The
charades evening went very well and there is plenty of material left for a
similar evening in future. ·
Pride
and Prejudice at Mottisfont on Wednesday 25th July. Not much
response from Players to this event, though the committee still feel it is
good to have theatre visits despite them being difficult to organise. Nigel
also suggested getting together to review theatre or cinema. ·
Barbecue
on Saturday 18th August at Sue’s. Ø
Meeting
for committee at Sue’s on Thursday 16th August at 7pm (before play
rehearsal) to finalise details – food/games. Ø
Vanessa
to put advert in newsletter to encourage families and new members to come
along. Ø
Vanessa
to be contact from August as Sue will be away for a few days beforehand. Ø
Personal
contact to be made to invite people to barbecue and ask for subs. ·
Walk
on Sunday 9th September. Nigel has found
3 possible routes, 2 including picnic stops with the option of a longer walk
after lunch for those who wish to go further, and 1 involving a shorter walk
ending at the pub in case of bad weather. ·
Harvest
Supper on Saturday 13th October. Sandie would
like the Players to provide 20 minutes of light-hearted entertainment.

Vanessa
to compose summer newsletter and email to committee for approval. Ø
Newsletter
will then be emailed out to those online and printed for committee to
distribute to others. Some membership cards will also be given to committee

to bring contacts list to organise phoning people to invite them along. ·
Wednesday
5th September 7.45 pm at Epworth Hall – initially an open production
meeting for panto 2008, all interested parties to attend – followed by a
committee meeting. |
